Kaizer Chiefs have made an offer to Pyramids FC for their long-time target, Fiston Mayele, 45min football has learned.
Mayele has been on Chiefs’ radar for some time and is now a top priority for coach Nasreddine Nabi. The two previously worked together at Young Africans (Yanga) before Nabi moved to AS FAR Rabat in Morocco.
A source close to the situation has confirmed that Chiefs have officially put in a bid for Mayele. “Coach Nabi has made it clear to Chiefs management that he wants Mayele, and now they have sent an offer to Pyramids. The ball is now in Pyramids’ court to either accept or reject it,” said the source.

Mayele is reportedly eager to join Kaizer Chiefs. Mayele expressed his desire to move to South Africa and don the Amakhosi jersey. The DR Congo striker was initially offered to Chiefs by his agent before he left Yanga for Pyramids in Egypt, but Chiefs passed on the opportunity after discovering they would need to buy him out from Yanga.
According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old striker is valued at €60,000 (around R11.7 million). although the exact amount of Chiefs’ offer is unclear, it is known that discussions between the two clubs are ongoing.

Mayele recently showcased his skills, scoring the opening goal in Pyramids’ 6-0 thrashing of JKU from Zanzibar in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match this past weekend.
