Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Orlando Pirates 4-0 in the final of the 2022 Carling Black Label Cup at Soccer City.
It all began to go awry for the Buccaneers in the 21st minute of the game when Tapelo Xoki was sent off for a brutal tackle on Haashim Domingo. This gap in the Bucs defense was exploited by Sphelele Mkhulise, who scored barely two minutes later.
Sundowns then extended their lead in the 33rd minute after Grant Kekana completed a straightforward movement within the Pirates' area. With Mpontshane completely at sea, Cassius Mailula virtually finished the match as a fight with another easy goal to make it three.

Cassius Mailula then made it 4-0 in the 67th minute, when the game had devolved into a training session for the merciless Pretoria squad, with a straightforward shot from beyond the box as the Pirates defenders backed off. The record for the most goals scored in a single Carling Black Label Cup match was broken with that goal.
