Six Chiefs players could depart the team for free in June

Six first-team players are expected to leave the Kaizer Chiefs after their contracts end in June 2023, players for nothing.

If they are unable to come to new terms with Amakhosi by January, these six Kaizer Chiefs players are free to speak with other teams

SIX PLAYERS FROM THE KAIZER CHIEFS WHO COULD LEAVE FOR FREE IN JUNE 2023

ITUMELENG KHUNE

Khune, the team captain, is 35 years old at this time. While not elderly for a goalkeeper, he is clearly not a youngster. However, with all of the incoming and outgoing players anticipated, it appears unlikely that Amakhosi management will let him go.

KHAMA BILLIAT

Since leaving Sundowns, the Zimbabwean attacker has been a shell of his former self. The 32-year-old is devoid of confidence after formerly being a deadly, direct-running goal scorer from wide areas. The key to reviving his career may be to leave the Chiefs.

ERIC MATHOHO

After providing the club with such exemplary service over the years, "Tower" is widely anticipated to quit. It won't be simple to fill his void in the defensive center and the locker room, but that's an issue for another day. His achievements will always be cherished by Amakhosi supporters across the continent.

SIFISO HLANTI

This season, Amakhosi's reliable left-back Hlanti has been a regular starter. The Chiefs could do much worse than sign the former AmaZulu, Wits, and Swallows player to a new contract because of how consistently effective he is.

PHATHUTSHEDZO NANGE

The 30-year-old center midfielder hasn't even been given a chance this year because Yusuf Maart, Siyethemba Sithebe, and Njabulo Blom are all ahead of him in the standings. He will relocate to fresh surroundings.

NJABULO BLOM

Here, a saga is developing. Blom, 22, believes that he deserves significantly better terms on his current contract, which would put him among the club's greatest earners. Perhaps a deal can be struck if Chiefs can have Billiat's pay removed from the wage tab. The longer this goes on, though, the more anxious the supporters will become. The possibility of giving away their valuable asset to a significant rival for free increases every day.
