Shauwn Mkhize: Happy Jele Remains an Integral Part of Our Club Despite Current Team Absence

Following his departure from Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2021–2022 season, Jele was signed during the January transfer window.

The 36-year-old was originally expected to sign before the start of the prior season, but due to back-and-forth negotiations, the former Pirates captain chose to train alone for the first half of 2022–2023.

MaMkhize advised the players and technical staff that nobody should wear jersey number 4 since Jele was supposed to wear it. This was done to demonstrate her desire for the defender.

Jele ultimately joined with him in January of this year, participating in four games across all competitions.

Due to a suspension from his final game with the Pirates in the 2021/22 season, he was unable to participate in the first two games. However, after serving those two games, Jele appeared in four games, including a 1-1 draw with his old team at Orlando Stadium.

However, iDiski Times sources claimed that Jele was getting frustrated as his contract was about to expire in June because no one was returning his messages on a potential return.

The former Buccaneers defender is still their player, according to MaMkhize. She merely answered, "Happy Jele is still in the club."

Royal AM is currently unable to sign new players after losing its case against Samir Nurkovic and receiving a FIFA suspension. Additionally, the club's appeals to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to overturn the decision were denied.

As the case was dismissed, the club is unable to sign new players during this window or in January unless Nurkovic is paid.

What will happen to Nkanyiso Zungu, Sibusiso Sibeko, and King Ndlovu, who were part of the lineup in preseason, was a question posed to MaMkhize.

“I would not like to comment on that,” she replied.

“Sometimes you must allow your stories to take its course. I will never allow myself to be judged or to take the final statement or let this internal case run by the media.

“I would like to allow processes to take its course and we will update you.”
