Riveiro On Dzvukamanja's Exit And Pirates' Current Options

Jose Riveiro, head coach of the Orlando Pirates, wishes Terrence Dzvukamanja well but says he's comfortable with his alternatives for the 2023/24 season.

Dzvukamanja, 29, completed an uneasy move to SuperSport United after signing a pre-contract with the club in January.

However, there have been conflicting comments from both parties regarding how the move actually went on, with Pirates claiming he lied about the necessity to return to Zimbabwe.

He is, however, reunited with Gavin Hunt at Matsatsanda, while Zakhele Lepasa returns to the Buccaneers following a six-month loan in Tshwane.

“I’m happy with the group in general, I think it’s normal after every season players are coming and going, loans, etc,” Riveiro said when asked by iDiski Times about his options u front for the new season.

“I think overall we managed to keep all our key players with us, it’s important to have continuity to not start from [scratch] this season and if we lose one or two players it’s part of the process.

“It’s normal… I’m happy to have worked with Terrence for one year and I’m wishing him all the best for the future [at SuperSport United].”

After breaking into their starting eleven at the start of the year, the Zimbabwe international scored eight goals and registered two assists in 13 appearances.
