PSl Legend Retires After 17 years

South African football legend Jabu Maluleke has called time on his impressive career, announcing his retirement from the beautiful game. After nearly 17 years in professional football, Maluleke has decided to hang up his boots at the age of 39, turning 40 in March.

Maluleke played for several clubs in his career, including Black Leopards, Polokwane City, SuperSport United, and Sekhukhune United. He has left an indelible mark on South African football, with his exceptional technique, vision, and creativity making him one of the most revered midfielders in the country.

"I have retired from football," said Maluleke in a recent interview with a local publication. "It's a decision I had to make before being forced out of the game by fans. I'm grateful for the years I've had on the pitch and I'm excited to be joining the development team at SuperSport United."

Maluleke's contribution to the beautiful game has not gone unnoticed, with Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena lauding his legacy. "It means a lot to me," said Mokwena, reflecting on the Sundowns' recent 1-0 win over Al Hilal. "Jabu Maluleke is a true great of South African football, and his impact on the game will be felt for years to come."

Maluleke is set to join Thabo September in the Matsatsantsa development setup, where he will be sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of South African footballers. It's a fitting end to an illustrious career for one of South Africa's most beloved footballing sons.
