Thembinkosi Lorch, Miguel Timm, and Katlego Otladisa have all received good news about their injuries, according to Orlando Pirates.
This season, Lorch and Timm have yet to appear together. They were forced to miss time due to small medical issues they had in the closing weeks of the 2022–23 season.
Last season, both players were crucial for the Soweto giants as they clinched a double. The Nedbank Cup and the MTN8 championship were won by The Ghosts.
Otladisa, a recent acquisition [from Marumo Gallants], was unfortunate to sustain an injury on his league debut against Stellenbosch FC, where the Soweto giants lost 1-0.
The 26-year-old was consequently forced to miss the Pirates' final league game against Royal AM at Orlando Stadium. Royal AM lost against Pirates 4-2.
THE RETURN OF LORCH, TIMM, AND OTLADISA TO FULL TRAINING
The players might resume full training with the rest of the squad in the upcoming days, according to the club, who also disclosed that the trio is getting closer to returning.
Therefore, none of the three players will participate in Saturday, August 12,'s MTN8 quarterfinal match between Pirates and Sekhukhune United in Soweto.
While Vusimuzi Mncube, one of the Bucs' major players, won't play, Babina Noko will take on the team. The offensive player is serving the final game of his red-card ban. During Sekhukhune's first game of the new season against Mamelodi Sundowns, he received his marching orders.
The Sea Robbers also announced the additions of Lesedi Kapinga and Karim Kamvuidi, which is wonderful news. The two will soon make their public appearances. After leaving Mamelodi Sundowns, Kapinga became a free agent, and Kamvuidi transferred from Maritzburg United to Pirates.
The Soweto Giants recently disclosed that Kermit Erasmus, Vincent Pule, and Kabelo Dlamini are all recovering from injuries as well.
The fact that none of the injury setbacks are permanent is a plus. Once there is no longer any discomfort or suffering, all of the athletes will return to training and the playing field. Kutlwano Molefe, a member of the medical staff for the Pirates, reaffirmed this.
“As a medical department, we have acted swiftly to address the injuries, and this is key in ensuring the swift turnaround of the injured players to getting ready,” said Molefe. “Through these interventions, we are confident these players will be back soon.”
