Sameehg Doutie, a former winger for the Orlando Pirates, scored for Manukau United in just his second game after coming out of retirement.
When the 33-year-old, who had been playing professional football for more than ten years, was unable to find a club in South Africa, he announced his retirement early in 2022.
In his career, he took home five trophies, including two Telkom Knockouts. He played for Ajax Cape Town (Cape Town Spurs), Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits, and other teams. He also worked in Sweden and India, where Atletico de Kolkata and he won the Indian Super League in 2016.
The IDIKITIMES published an article at the beginning of last month stating that Doutie, who is in demand in New Zealand, had signed a contract with Manukau, a team that is battling relegation in the Northern League.

The deal was finalized a few weeks ago, and the winger from Cape Town made his debut on May 13 in a 3-0 loss to Manurewa.
In a 3-2 loss to Western Springs AFC over the past weekend, Doutie scored his first goal in New Zealand and his team's first goal.
Manukau has only five points after 10 games and is second-to-last in the Northern League. Doutie, however, had good reason to be pleased when his goal was chosen as the Goal of the Week.
