Dolly: I Miss Playing With Billiat!

Kaizer Chiefs stand-in captain Keagan Dolly, who has opened up about the loss of his attacking partner, Khama Billiat.

Dolly and Billiat have formed a formidable partnership over the years, starting from their time at Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs), Mamelodi Sundowns, and now at Chiefs. The duo, who formed part of the ‘CBD’ trident under coach Pitso Mosimane at Sundowns, have been missed by Chiefs this season, with Billiat plagued by injury and Dolly's form ebbing and flowing.

In a recent interview, Dolly expressed his disappointment at losing his partner in crime, saying, "Obviously, I miss playing with Khama. We all know what he can bring on the day. His experience, his quality, just our understanding. But it’s part of the game. He’s out, and there are other players that can come and do the same job."

Dolly believes that the inconsistency experienced by Chiefs this season has been due to the struggles of trying to get the right combinations on the field. With one player injured, another comes in, and the cycle repeats. However, he remains optimistic about the team's progress, stating that "Christian came into the squad, he’s a new player still trying to adapt to the way we play. It's progress for us, and we need to keep working on it until we get it right again."

The Amakhosi took a step in the right direction with their recent Soweto Derby win over Orlando Pirates and will be looking to build on that momentum when they face Richards Bay this Saturday. Can they replicate their success? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure - the Chiefs will be fighting hard to secure another victory.
