Daniel Cardoso, an experienced defender, has outlined what it takes for Sekhukhune United to defeat Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final this weekend.
On Saturday, May 27, 2023, Babina Noko and the Buccaneers will face off at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane.
The start time is set for 18:00.
This is Sekhukhune’s first final in the DStv Premiership since securing their promotion in the 2020/21 season.

The 34-year-old centre defender believes that going into the eagerly anticipated finals game with the appropriate mentality and displaying a lot of hunger can help them triumph against all odds.
“Look, I think showing that extra commitment. It will also depend on whether you are hungry [how much you want to win it] or not,” Cardoso told journalists.
“I think going in the final with a positive attitude, mindset, and energy that will help us to come out victorious.
Cardoso, who played every minute of Sekhukhune's 2022–23 DStv Premiership games, has been crucial to the Limpopo team's progress this season.
Moreover, since Pirates placed second in the log standings of South African football's first division, Sekhukhune's involvement in the Nedbank Cup final has earned them a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup for the upcoming season.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED IS PERCEIVED AS THE UNDERDOGS
The ex-Kaizer Chiefs player continued by saying that because they are the underdogs in this match, they are under less pressure.
“I think being underdog you go into the game with no pressure. There are going to be so many fans for Orlando Pirates. So we are going there with no pressure,” he added.
“It’s some of the boys’ first final. The nerves will be there but nerves are good because they always give a little bit of a tingle to give it that extra. I think it is a good thing going there as underdogs.”
Since making his top-flight debut in 2012 wearing the colors of the Free State Stars, Cardoso will be aiming to earn his first PSL championship.
