Cape Town Spurs are back in the DStv Premiership after defeating Maritzburg United in the PSL promotional play-offs.
On the final day of the Motsepe Foundation Championship season, they missed out on automatic promotion.
Most of the players from previous season are still with the Mother City team. They also disclosed the season-long loan signing of Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Siyanda Msani.
Msani went on loan to Richards Bay FC for the 2022–23 season.
The Ikamva-based club also secured Downs native Luvuyo Phewa on another financing agreement.
They also desired to strengthen their 2023/24 team with a few fresh faces.
Cooper, a full-fledged member of the Botswana national team with 22 caps, missed the COSAFA Cup to try his luck in Cape Town.
The 26-year-old midfielder will not be signed, the club has decided.
Pretoria Callies, a team of the Motsepe Foundation, is also interested in Cooper and has previously been to Botswana to meet with him.
He is currently under no obligation to Gaborone United and is free to join any team of his choosing.

The former Township Rollers player has experience living abroad.
He spent a brief time in Zambia playing for the Lusaka Dynamos.
After that, he went on an expedition to North Africa and stayed at Mouloudia d'Oudja for a few months.

The short linkman's suspected intention in playing football elsewhere in Africa makes it doubtful that he will play in Botswana next season.
