Arthur Zwane Promises To Use More Of The Youngsters

Kaizer Chiefs may have played out to a goalless stalemate with Orlando Pirates in the Carling Cup on Saturday but it seems substitutes, Mduduzi Shabalala(18) and Samkelo Zwane(20) left an impression on coach Arthur Zwane.

Mduduzi Shabalala got to play just over 30 minutes whilst compatriot Samkelo Zwane only got over 15 minutes but it seems both left a very big impression on the head coach leaving him with praises for the youngsters.

"Definitely we will give them the opportunity, that's the direction we are taking as a club. Giving the youngsters opportunities. They went in and changed the complexion of the game.

"It's good for the young boys and it will also encourage the other young boys in our DDC team. If they can come in and change the complexion of the game when there are about 80,000 people in the FNB Stadium, then it means mentally they were ready and that's all that we expect from them.

"If they can cope with that then that means in the next game it will be even much better."

Young starlet Mduduzi Shabalala's involvement in the senior side was hindered by his school work. The boy had been given time to focus on his books as his still doing Matric. Next year he will be available giving him time to be involved in the senior squad on a full-time basis just like compatriot Samkelo Zwane who is 20 years old and has already completed school which gives him the ability to be involved with the senior squad. The defensive midfielder has been training and been involved in the senior team's matchday squad also making substitution appearances.

Wandile Duba is another exciting youngster touted to be involved with the senior side next year as his still in school, but Kaizer Chiefs seem to need him as there's a lack of fortunes in the final third for Amakhosi. Their strikers have been misfiring so giving an opportunity to the youngster wouldn't be a very idea for the Kaizer Chiefs coach after all. The young striker is in red hot form, already scoring 5 goals in the DStv Diski Challenge for the Kaizer Chiefs DDC side. He is known for his killer instinct.

Kaizer Chiefs are known for producing exciting and very talented youngsters. It seems they are living up to it as there are a lot of youngsters still coming up with an Adan McCarthy, 18 also knocking on the door. The left-footed center-back has been making waves in the DDC earning him call-ups for the South African U20 and U23 national teams. He could feature in the senior team very soon as it seems it's a position where coach Arthur Zwane hasn't been satisfied hence inviting Bradley Cross for assessment.

Mduduzi Shabalala had attracted by Belgian side KVC Westerlo last summer who are eager to lure him to the Jupiler Pro League. After 2 weeks long assessment of the Belgian side he left them impressed, hence the side placing an R3.5m offer for the youngster which was deemed under what the Kaizer Chiefs hierarchy value him at. The Belgian side has since promised to keep tabs on the boy, and if he breaks into the first team and possibly causes a storm they will then consider making another improved offer for the 18-years old boy.

The young boys are expected to partake in the senior team training by December when the boys have completed their exams and start participating in the DStv Premiership season for Amakhosi.
