Amazulu welcomes Kaizer Chiefs star

Prior to the 2023/2024 season, a star from Kaizer Chiefs Football Club joins Amazulu Football Club.

When it comes to developing young, gifted players, Amakhosi is regarded as one of the top clubs in South Africa.

Club captain Itumeleng Khune, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Zitha Kwinika, and most recently Mduduzi Shabalala are just a few of the players Kaizer Chiefs has produced over the years.

The club has one of the best development structures in the nation, if not all of Africa.

It consistently produces highly talented young players with the potential to rise to the top of the sport in the nation.

Jabu Mahlangu and Doctor Khumalo are just a couple of the legendary athletes the club has produced.

Nevertheless, despite developing highly talented players, some of them have trouble fitting in at the club.

Players like Mdantsane, Lebohang Lesako, and Darrel Matsheke had trouble making the transition to the senior squad.

But after spending a great deal of time away from the Naturena-based club, the latter has since returned to Chiefs.

Mthokozisi Maseko, who recently joined Amazulu FC, is the most recent player to struggle at Chiefs.

The 18-year-old forward was promoted to the under-19 team earlier this year after scoring 20 goals in 27 games for the Chiefs under-17 team.

He has however joined Usuthu's DDC team for the 2023–2024 season after failing to make the Chiefs' Dstv Diski Challange team.

Depending on the fixtures, the DDC season will begin in September 2023 and last until late April or early May 2024.

Maseko will attempt to emulate players who succeeded in their careers after leaving the club.
