According To a Kaizer Chiefs Legend Khama Billiat Must Secure a New Contract

Khama Billiat needs to step up and work hard, according to Kaizer Chiefs veteran Tinashe Nengomasha, if he wants to be given a new contract.

Billiat's current contract with the Chiefs expires in June 2023, but the management hasn't begun negotiations with him, thus the talisman's future is uncertain.

Billiat would be qualified to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice if he wasn't given a new deal by the first of the year.

Nengomasha, who spent ten years at Chiefs, says that while Billiat is a gifted football player, Naturena expects him to perform similarly to what he did at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nengomasha further anticipates that the Chiefs management would take Billiat's amount of goals and assistance into account when determining whether or not to extend him a new contract.

And while Nengomasha thinks Chiefs still need seasoned veterans in their squad, he doesn't think things are looking well for Billiat at this point.

"Khama must put forth effort if he wants a fresh deal. The players all act in this manner. You must demonstrate your desire to remain at the club on the field when you are aware that your contract is about to expire, according to Nengomasha, who spoke to Isolezwe.

Everyone is aware of what he did at Sundowns. He is my hometown kid, and I am behind him, but he must convince the Chiefs' management that he merits the new deal. He's got control over everything," he said.

If his fans are not pleased with his performance, he must accept this and keep working hard. He is talented, as we all know, but he must work hard. Football is a sport where somebody can earn money if he wants to. You can't ask for money when you don't have anything to contribute on the field, Nengomasha continued.

"The management will take a seat and analyze the data, which includes the goals and assists he has contributed. He still has two more seasons left as a player, but the statistics don't look promising.

Nengomasha continued, "I don't know how the Chiefs management feels about him, but the team needs experienced players."
