Another former Kaizer Chiefs star has been let go from his DStv Premiership team due to his behavior. Stellenbosch FC has bid farewell to two ex-Chiefs players in just a month. Last month, Stellenbosch confirmed that Kgaogelo Sekgota was leaving immediately due to off-field issues. Sekgota had joined Stellenbosch at the start of the season after leaving Kaizer Chiefs.

Now, another recent arrival from Naturena has also been given the boot because of off-field problems. The club confirmed that midfielder Darrel Matsheke is leaving after breaching the club’s code of conduct.
Matsheke had joined Stellenbosch in August last year after being let go by Kaizer Chiefs.
“Stellenbosch Football Club and Darrel Matsheke have agreed to part ways after he breached the club’s code of conduct,” said the official statement from the club.
Matsheke had played in 12 matches this season, including scoring the decisive penalty in the club’s 2023 Carling Knockout triumph.
In other news, two players linked to Kaizer Chiefs are heading to Europe for trials. Stellenbosch’s Liam De Kock and La Masia’s Isa Mangera are set to trial in Portugal soon.
Both defenders have caught the attention of Chiefs, with De Kock impressing for Stellenbosch’s reserve side and Mangera, aged 18, being highly regarded by Cavin Johnson.
