Stellenbosch FC is on the brink of signing a top player, leaving Kaizer Chiefs in the dust. The player in question is Sanele Barns, known for his skills on the left side of the field, hailing from Richards Bay.
Despite Kaizer Chiefs showing interest in Barns, it appears Stellenbosch FC has clinched the deal. This could be seen as a bit of payback for Stellenbosch, considering Chiefs have frequently poached players from their team before.
While this move might seem like a blow to Chiefs, they’ve been rather relaxed about pursuing Barns. According to sources close to the situation, Stellenbosch FC has already secured a deal with Barns, set to kick in from July onwards.

The deal is reported to be a long-term one, offering Barns an upgrade and a chance for a fresh start. Chiefs, although interested, didn’t push hard enough, and now it seems Barns will be headed elsewhere.
During the current season, Barns has showcased his prowess, scoring three goals and assisting with five for Richards Bay in 19 appearances. With this move, Stellenbosch FC is looking to strengthen its squad, while Chiefs may need to rethink their strategy for the upcoming seasons.
