After the AFCON competition, Kaizer Chiefs may make an announcement that would delight their supporters: a surprise signing.
Before the second half of the season begins, Kaizer Chiefs may soon be adding players to their roster.
It is believed that Chiefs are nearing completion of the signing of Mohamed Hussein, a left-back from Tanzania.
The Chiefs are concerned about the left back position because Sifiso Hlanti, Edmilson Dove, and Reeve Frosler are frequently used there. Given that Dove and Hlanti are both in the final year of their contracts, it is obvious that the team needs a long-term fix.
Though there’s still a chance for both players to extend their contracts, Mohamed Hussein appears to be a top club target. The most recent reports state that Amakhosi has almost finalized a deal to acquire Tshabalala.
Because of his heroics on the left flank, Hussein received the name Tshabalala from his hero, Chiefs legend Siphiwe. Soccer-Laduma now claims that he might have shared the former Bafana Bafana star’s colors.
“The club has now embarked on looking for a left back who could possibly replace Sifiso (Hlanti). They want to bring in Tanzanian Mohamed (Hussein) but that can only happen after the Afcon as the player is part of the Tanzania national team that is currently at Afcon. He was even in the squad that lost 30 to Morocco, so everything will be finalised after Afcon,” said one source to the publication
It appeared from another source as well that Hussein would soon be joining the Chiefs.
“The club and the player are both preparing for a new life away from Tanzania but that will all depend on Chiefs right now. The deal is as good as done as we speak but they are waiting for the Afcon to finish because many things could happen during Afcon and that’s why they have agreed to wait until after the tournament,” said the second source
