Pitso Mosimane says that a move to Kaizer Chiefs is still something he would give serious consideration if the club have a serious offer.
Pitso Mosimane says sentiment will not be part of the equation when deciding his next move as a coach and won’t influence whether he takes the job at Kaizer Chiefs
PITSO MOSIMANE OPEN TO KAIZER CHIEFS MOVE STILL
Mosimane is among the names mentioned as potential Kaizer Chiefs coaches and he has insisted that nothing is off the table.
However, all the business elements of the decision have to be in place.
Mosimane says that the club need to show him that they have a proper plan for the future before he will get on board.
“It is like in business, it works like that. But we are also businesspeople, and also this is a career, make no mistake. Ask Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp – this is not charity, this is not which club you supported when you were young.
“There must be a proper plan and a proper vision, to say ‘do you want this?’ I can coach any team, in the country, in Africa, in the gulf, the US, Europe, but it has to be proper,” he added.
Mosimane doesn’t think that the Kaizer Chiefs task is beyond him feeling that he could turn things around if given the reins.
“Kaizer Chiefs not winning a trophy for eight years, these things happen. I can put out the fires.
He added: “I have always had to put out fires, all my career. I will have to do things that were not done [at the club] in the last six years,” Pitso Mosimane added.
“When I arrived at Mamelodi Sundowns, they had not won a single trophy in six years, and they were number 14 on the PSL log table.
“It is like in business, it works like that. Kaizer Chiefs always had star players, and they were beating everybody, that is why the brand is big.”
