Antonio Van Wyk who is currently linked with a very possible move to Kaizer Chiefs FC’s official update has been given by his agent. Van Wyk is the most wanted man in Naturena, exactly, especially by fans.
The 21-year-old has made 60 appearances and scored five goals for Stellies since making his debut in the 2021/22 season.
The South African U23 player, who has also been capped at senior level at the 2022 COSAFA Cup, has attracted the interest of several teams after his good showings for Stellies.
The former Ubuntu Academy graduate will remain forever in the history books of the Cape Winelands side after helping them clinch their first-ever major silverware, lifting the Carling Knockout Cup.
Amid reported interest in Antonio Van Wyk, iDiski Times reached out to Van Wyk’s representative Lance Davids of Football First, who confirmed that the Stellenbosch winger was happy at the club and has another year on his contract.
Apart from that, our analyser Senzo Sambo has analysed why some of Kaizer Chiefs FC players must go on loan.
“A loan deal for Samkelo Zwane, Wandile Duba, Happy Mashiane and Sabelo Radebe. Mina I’m disturbed when all these boy’s are kept in the team, to make it look like we have depth while we know they won’t play more than 5games a season.
“These boys need a loan elsewhere but Kaizer Chiefs management is something else. A Chippa United or Swallows would appreciate a talent like Samkelo Zwane and Duba
A Supersport United would appreciate a Mashiane. Cape Town Spurs would appreciate a Sabelo Radebe.
“The problem is that when we loan players we want the teams to pay(cover) 50% of the players salary why can’t we just cover the 100% salary. Because even when in Naturena they get paid for not playing. Stockpiling youngsters without game time is a recipe for disaster, confidence drops, they get rusty, lose the support they had from fans and have to earn it back gradually.
“Do you still remember how supporters loved Sabelo Radebe after that performances in the Carling Black Label Cup? His confidence was still high you could see the energy. Now all that hype has died because we are stockpiling such talent on the bench. There’s no team that has so much good young talent that is stockpiled like Kaizer Chiefs.”
