It’s official: Kaizer Chiefs have begun their pursuit of this Super Star who is 25 years old.
CHIEFS LAUNCH BID FOR CELE.
According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have continued the process of revamping their team’s roster and have made a bid of R1.67 million for Thabo Cele.
The 25-year-old player came quite close to signing with Amakhosi at the start of the previous season, but he ultimately decided to move to Radomiak Radom in Poland instead.
According to a Polish writer named Szymon Jancczyk, Amakhosi appear to have reignited their interest in the central midfielder and have made a bid of 100,000 Euros for the player.
Radomiak, on the other hand, have decided to turn down the offer since new head coach Mariusz Lewandowski considers Cele to be an essential element of the team.
Cele moved to Poland for free after playing for Cova Piedade in Portugal and has already played 13 times for his new team in his first season there so far.
HOW CLOSE WAS CELE TO JOINING Kaizer Chiefs?
After his transfer to the Glamour Boys fell through the previous year, the South African Under-23 team midfielder got in touch with the source.
Before the Chiefs rather suddenly withdrew from the negotiations, he had already envisioned himself playing for the Amakhosi.
In October, he gave an interview to the iDiski Times in which he stated that “as time went on it got strong that Thabo Cele is going to Chiefs,” and that “even the supporters started feeling it that Thabo Cele would be an exciting signing for the club.”
“And then, the negotiations started to materialize into reality, just as I said they almost did, because I was also interested in becoming a member of the club,” she stated. However, in the end it did not take place.
“I was starting to see it occurring because I was starting to ask myself questions, such as how is it going to be, the expectations, how am I going to handle, and how am I going to react to certain things, certain pressures, and the environment?
“Because the atmosphere is different on this side and that side, so sure I was starting to believe that this is occurring, but I would not say that I’m unhappy because I have this amazing opportunity here in Poland,” she said. “Because the environment is different on this side and that side.”
