Dube rejects proposed Richards move
Kaizer Chiefs defender Austin Dube has turned down the opportunity to join Richards Bay on loan.
The 29-year-old is behind Zitha Kwinika, Njabulo Ngcobo, Siyabonga Ngezana and Erick Mathoho in the central defence pecking order.
While left-sided players Edmilson Dove’s arrival and Sifiso Hlanti’s return from injury has also affected Dube whose contracted to Chiefs until June 2024.
Dube wants to stay at the Naturena-based giants and fight for his place in the team. The current transfer window will close on September 22.
Chiefs have an option to renew for a further two years (to June 2026).
